Re: Guitar - shipping abroad

That is my point,

As a seller, you have the money in your possession, so where is the risk?

If all the other safeguards I mentioned are in place, i.e. carriage insurance and signed-for delivery, where is the problem for the seller?

In answer to your point re stolen credit card, I believe the credit card company would have to pursue the fraudster for the amount paid, not the seller. It would otherwise be, for example, a stolen credit card being used in a department store and the credit company trying to reclaim the amount from the store. Doesn't happen.

I had a buyer pay by Paypal but direct debit had been cancelled by the buyer so Paypal could not get the funds ,did Paypal do go after the buyer or take the funds back from me??

they took the funds back from me 14 days after I had sent the item, so having the money means jack unless it was sent as cash in the first place

Hi there

When reading the comments on this subject, I have difficulty in understanding the problem. Where does the scam come in?

An item is listed, bid for and won. No dispatch is undertaken till the funds are safely in the sellers hands, so (I repeat) where is the problem?

Feedback rating is only relevant if you are buying from that person.

Pack the item, take to a carrier, get shipping cost, pass this amount onto the potential buyer, insist on adding carriage insurance for the value of the item and singed-for delivery and await developments.

Hi.

I have a guitar for sale on ebay UK. I have been asked if i will ship
to portugal. What are the risks involved with this?

It's a little expensive for a start..... 7.35Kg with dimensions of
109x45x16cm boxed.

I would like as many people to bid as possible (for obvious reasons)
but im just a little nervous about this. Also, the potential bidder
has no feedback (0).

Any advice would be appreciated!

Regards,
IanG

There is several ways.
1,The buyer pays with a stolen credit card, you send the item credit card owner finds out credit card company claws back the money.
2,Buyer pays by Papal and claims its not arrived.
there are other variations but until you have cash in your hand all other payments methods can by reversed at a later date
