A basic question I know, but I can't find the answer on the eBay help pages:
Sold a book last Friday - one bidder only and the final price was a fraction of what the book's worth.
If that's all anyone is prepared to pay for it, that is all it's worth. If you'd wanted more, you should have put a higher opening price (or used a reserve, if of sufficient value).
Hey ho - it's all a bit of a gamble and I lost on this one. I sent an invoice to the the seller within a few hours, but to date he/she hasn't replied. No payment came in the post today either. Thre is still time for contact or payment of course, but how long exactly is it before I am released from an obligation to sell?
Do you mean last Friday as in 4 days ago? It's quite possible the buyer was away for the weekend, or only has internet access a few times a week. And if you are waiting for payment through the post I'd allow at least 5 working days - I've had cheques given to children to post and then laid buried at the bottom of a school bag for a week.
Give it a few more days before following up with a polite enquiry to the buyer.
