Hi all,If i had to wait 3 weeks for you to refund me i'd neg you.
I just checked my ebay account to find that i have my first negative
feedback, which i feel is unwarranted and undeserving.
The auction, which was for a Playstation 1 Memory Card, was posted a
day after the auction finished on Friday the 5th of May. The seller
emailed a week later to say he had not received the card, of course i
told him i posted it the previous week and if it had been lost i would
to wait 14 working days before making a claim with the post office. I
offered to scan the post office receipt, to which he did not take up.
I fully expected him to respond later (as with all buyers prior that
have had auctions lost in the post) to say he still had not got the
memory card. Indeed as planned i would have then have processed a
refund through Paypal.
Unfortunately instead he left negative feedback today which essentially
accuses me of lying about posting it.
Can i ask what would you do in this situtation? I have of course
emailed him to ask him why he has negative feedback, and have sent him
a scan of the proof of posting.
lost, it will be at least another week after that before they declare
it officially lost. You need to get a more realistic idea of how the
postal system works in this country.
Actually, it is up to 3 months for International post on their website but in my case it was just over 2 weeks.
It varies dependent on how long the international investigation takes
investigation. Making 39 days in total.
Ahh - I'm sorry I'm with you now. I meant from when I put the forms in - not from date of posting. I submitted the forms a month after posting. If this is what you meant then apologies for the confusion - but liar was still inappropriate for a misunderstanding!
That would depend on how deliberate a lie it was. A deliberate
omission of fact is just as much of a lie as a complete fabrication.
The discussion at the time was whether it was fair to make buyers wait
15 days from posting or not before refunding them. You said you had a
refund for foreign mail in 14 days, there was no mention of this extra
30 days that you now admit to. The settlement time has also
mysteriously been lenghened to nearly 3 weeks.
At what stage did you refund the buyer? 3 days after posting when they
said it had not arrived, 25 days after posting when you can report it
as lost to the post office, or 45-50 days after posting when it was
confirmed as lost?
No, a lie is a conscious thing. A deliberate omission of a fact could indeed constitute a lie. This did not happen.
I have no motive to lie on this dull thread. I was merely adding an opinion that RM are not that bad in my experience - after all, this is what ng's are for isn't it? Points of view. It is a shame they become personal by virtue of some ignorant peoples contributions.
The fact it seems I missed a point was an error on my part which, were I lying I would have perpetuated rather than concede once it became apparent.
The fact remains, I secured compensation in just over 2 weeks from the claim which is excellent
.
