Hi
does anyone know a way that you can write a HTML page that
will include pictures so that you don't have to pay for each
image that is uploaded to e bay . I have seen a few E byers
that have had at least four or five pictures on their page , I
am sure that this would not be profitable to the seller , one
picture and a gallery I agree with , however any more then
that just eats into your small profit . can you create a web
page and paste into description ? can you create one image
and past as photo ? there has got to be an easier way . I want
to sell an Item that needs a few pictures that will show
professionalism and quality ,however with a small mark up , in
other words if I paid E bay for all the pictures the final
price would mean me owing E bay .Hope this makes sense. cheers
Paul
I always use Outlook Express in HTML mode.
http://imageshack.us/ as the image host.
Paste the source into Ebay page, where you enter your own HTML.
So does this save money on Images , can you paste more than
one picture and not get charged for it . I don't use Outlook
Express any more , trying to get everything over to Linux and
personal control over my computer system
cheers Paul
They can't charge you for the pictures in the HTML hosted on the
imageshack site.
You can do as many pics as you want.
Can't you compose an HTML in the news reader you're usin, and just
copy/paste the HTML?
The main thing is you will need some Web space to upload your pictures to
and when you include the pictures in the HTML of your description you will
need to write the full path to the image which will look something like
this: <img src="http://www.myhost.com/images/ebay/image1.jpg">
It's fairly simple but a bit more involved than just copying and pasting
which could be a bit misleading, because if you copy and paste image files
into Outlook Express it will reference the local copy of your image in the
temporary directory of your own computer, which means although the images
will seem to appear in your pages, they won't appear for anyone else viewing
eBay because they don't have access to your hard disk (at least one hopes
not)
But as long as you have the images remotely hosted on some Webspace and
include the full url of the image it should work.
The easiest way to work out the full paths to your images is to set up a
folder on your remote webspace host and create a shortcut to it in your
browser, that way your browser creates a file list, and if you click on any
of the images it's URL will appear in the address bar, which you can copy
and paste into your html :)
