The claim is that the coins are being sold by"The Royal Society of British
Exploration est 1781 A museum founded by The Earl of Oxbridge"

There is no such Royal Society, no such museum, no Earl of Oxbridge. There
are several pages of listings on Google for this seller, he's obviously
committing fraud in a big way.

If the hoard is real (which I doubt given everything else), he's breaking
the law by trying to sell an unreported hoard.

Can anything be done about this?
He has also been dealing as
the*metal*detectorist 29-Sep-05 28-Nov-05
canterburycoins 04-Aug-05 29-Sep-05

I wonder how long this ID will last.

He seems to be linking pictures to his own webpage

I would have clicked on the ebay link to see if it would go back to his id, but that doesn't work

I like the way he cuts and pastes so called feedback comments from his ebay account, on his "offer" pages, yet his fb is private

Anyway, I did try going to "buy now", but paypal told me
"This recipient is currently unable to receive money."
