I thought the Vodkajelly chappie was quoting from a post I made here on
6th Sept; when I check back I see that I suggested "extending the
auction for 1 minute following an effective bid". So perhaps others are
thinking along similar lines...

Rubbish. What it does is to help ensure that sellers get the proper
market price by making it more like a "real" auction. Do you disapprove
of that?
