Every entry regardless if its a new post or a reply gets put to the top
of the list .

If the thread has more than one post - then clicking on FIND will list
all the posts with the same subject line .

While certainly not impossible to have the exact same subject line for
different posts - it is quite unlikely and even if it does happen then
it wont be too often - unless its summit like a support forum where the
same question gets asked over and over again - and even then it could be
an advantage as it becomes like a 'one click' search .

Comments on the actual functional use of it are invited - as is web
design comments .

Naturally, I expect you'll want to use a default display algorithm but
why force users to accept only one particular screen layout for display
purposes?

Why not give users the option to sort and display posts as they please
- by soliciting comments from them
- by building in a sophisticated search function and logging the
searches made in such a way that you can use the information to discover
which display patterns users prefer.

I hate your screen display.

1. The use of capitals in the subject line - ouch. Capitals are harder
to read (especially for poor dyslexic sods like me), which is why
they've been using lower-case letters for motorway signs since the
1970s.

2. "Rev No.; Real Name; User Name; Car Quiz No.; Date" - why include
this at all? It just clutters up the screen. Wouldn't it be better to
make that text invisible and add a bit of javascript which magically
makes it appear when the user actually needs to know what the friggin
"Car Quiz No" for the topic is? Alternatively you could display the
less important information with a less dramatic text colour (eg. light
gray rather than black).

3. Cluttering up the screen with avatars and other such nonsense. If
you're going to use an avatar then why not just add some alt text to the
image which also shows the user name - thereby obviating the need to
display a username at all.

Why the sharp lines for table borders? Why use borders at all for
general display. You should restrict borders for high-lighting important
information.
