There is a fair amount, but not from Hotmail's servers. Remember that
82% of traffic with an @hotmail sender address is fraudulent spam not
sent via Hotmail's servers.

We reject the vast majority of junk with @hotmail sender addresses
before the sender verification stage, because the spam came from a
blacklisted IP address, or was sent to an invalid recipient. So I
can't give overall numbers, but I can give some numbers covering
legitimate email and hard-to-block spam. After a message passes sender
verification, the final heavy-weight checks involve message content
scanning, after which the mesasge is accepted.

Of the messages presented to us yesterday with @hotmail sender
addresses that did not come from Hotmail's servers, we rejected 238
because of an invalid sender address, we rejected 355 because of bad
message contents, and we accepted 359 (of which 188 were un-blocked
spam). A fair amount of the legit traffic was forwarded via other
mail servers.

On that basis about 25% of the traffic has invalid sender addresses.
