No; to me "retro" seems to indicate a *modern* reimplementation of
something in the /style/ of something much older. For an example, see
the Roberts DAB radio receiver. For that reason, I would oppose a fast
track, since the name is misleading.

u.c.vintage (or even u.c.classic) would be preferable.

(If the group is created, I would start waffling about my MC6809-based
Windrush system that I'm restoring;-)
