Hmmm, exactly what right does an accurate copyright cleared cover infringe?
I'm glad my band doesn't go for accuracy :)
Like you say, does this mean all the amp modellers will be sued for being
too accurate? Will sampling keyboards be trashed for sounding like a
Steinway Grand? Will Elvis impersonators be rounded up and culled? Will
thin girls wearing big sunglasses be chastised in the street for looking
like Posh Spice?
All smells of sour grapes to me, and I don't think they have a legal leg to
stand on.
BTW, I for one have never heard of them, I dare say of lot of other averages
Joe's haven't either. They already stand to make a hell of a lot of money
from royalties for the song in the game. Possibly more than before the
game!
The phrase 'cut of nose to spite face' spring to mind
