I saw the headstock has a very thin finish, and I thought I could
probably fine-sand it to get rid of the ugly logo. It seems simple

something cool of my own to make a transfer of and put there... but I'll
probably just leave it blank. I thought I could just give it an oil
finish and that's it. It seems like the simplest way to deal with this.
Any hints? Suggestions? better/simpler ways?
A good and fairly easy finish for this would be Liberon Finishing Oil. I
have used it to finish two mandolins I have just completed - the customers
wanted a non-glossy, folk-style finish on them and the Liberon oil was very
satisfactory. Good, silicon-free wax is another possibility.
