On live earth now
:-)
That was great. Nigel even had his own 'Spinal Tap' moment when his lead
packed up during the mandolin solo. Maybe it was planned, but it didn't seem
like it.
I was a bit miffed that the Beeb cut away from them to show something else
at one of the other concerts, and only showed the very end og Big Bottom
with the massed choir of bassists. The same as they cut away from Metallica
just as Enter Sandman was starting. Grrr. They managed to show the earlier
acts sets in their entirity, but so why not the bigger names that people
really wanted to see, I mean, everyone has been banging on all day about
wanting to see the mighty Tap, and they bloody cut away.
I missed seeing anything of the whole event due to a busy day and then
out gigging from 4pm, so I can't possibly comment on the coverage.
However, catching up with opinions on various forums I frequent, it
seems to have upset a lot of people.
Glastonbury seemed to do OK with use of the BBC's extra channels it
can call on these days, but they didn't seem to have done that with
the LE shows.
Meanwhile, here's my favourite comment "du jour" - crude, sexist and
in poor taste, it still made a refined chap like me splutter into his
coffee:
(It refers to the swift posting of the Foo's set on a torrent site)
Thanks for this, best set of the day by far.
Do you think that this is why Madonna got a guitar on
during her set because the Foo Fighters were so good ?
I think that was just to stop her tits banging into her knees for five minutes.
Steve.
