On live earth now
:-)
That was great. Nigel even had his own 'Spinal Tap' moment when his lead
packed up during the mandolin solo. Maybe it was planned, but it didn't
seem
like it.
I was a bit miffed that the Beeb cut away from them to show something
else
at one of the other concerts, and only showed the very end og Big Bottom
with the massed choir of bassists. The same as they cut away from
Metallica
just as Enter Sandman was starting. Grrr. They managed to show the
earlier
acts sets in their entirity, but so why not the bigger names that people
really wanted to see, I mean, everyone has been banging on all day about
wanting to see the mighty Tap, and they bloody cut away.
Maybe to save it for the DVD?
Surely you're not being cynical Woody? To think that they would want to get
even more money out of us by producing a DVD of eco awareness concert that
has put a huge drain on the national grid, and transport systems, not to
mention all those kettles being simultaneously switched on between acts, and
everyone watching it on TV for 12 hours non stop like me. ;)
Maybe - I really don't understand the message. Well, I understand the
climate change issue, I try to do my bit, and my bit doesn't involve a
huge concert with large unnessesary video screens and lights behind them
and a TV set with loads of needless background screens. I can't really
see any valid point in what they are doing.
And it pissed me off that the Pussycat dolls got 3 songs, like you would
have been able to tell they were 3 different songs. Didn't seem like a
appropriate venue for a group of strippers.
I think that the fact they got 3 songs is an insult to everyone else -
apart from Katie melua and shakira. I also don't know why Shakira is
called that, when the bloke did a lot more work.
