OT - 'too loud for the neighbours' ........I was recording the other
night using a Vox Valvetronix at the 5 watt setting - had it set below
'conversation level' but shoved an SM57 right down it's throat (so to
speak) ......sounded huge!...those mic's really are fantastic for
cabs..........has anyone got any experience of the chinese copy - the LD
57 ? - £40 apparently.

Heyup Nick, I also have a valvetronix AD30 the BJ is the boys.

John

Hiya John,

I've read a few duff reports about the Valvetronix over the years (granted
mainly from our American Allies......) - I have never had a minutes problem
with mine....the amp modelling is OOTW (mine's the Mark 1 that looks like an
AC30).

My son plugged in an Epiphone Casino into the AC30 Top Boost setting (you'd
expect that to be accurate wouldn't you?) and cloned 'Day Tripper'.

I recorded live with it a couple of years ago on the Fender Tweed setting
(cranked) with a 5-string Tele Custom on the middle switch - total 'Keef'
(sounded a bit better than him actually). - and again they really respond to
the SM57.

Nick
