What is the micro-br like? I assume if you wanted one of these too it is

I got one just after Christmas (apparently, you could not get them for
love nor money before Christmas).

I like it, but it is not really easy to use. I need to keep the manual
close to hand, especially for any features I don't use a lot (punch-in
editing, and mastering). I don't find the buttons too fiddly to use,
though.

If you accept that it's not going to give you everything, then you might
not be disappointed with it. I find the drum patterns are limiting, but if
you are recording rock-like stuff you could be happy enough with them.

One thing I really dislike is choosing punch-in points - you can't edit
them (nudge them a frame forwards or backwards), which would be easy on a
software package. Given how many software packages are out there, if all
your recording will be at home, then you might look at buying a decent
soundcard or other hardware thingy, maybe a DI box, and using the PC
instead.

I don't use the built in effects in the BR, and am annoyed that every new
track I have to turn the built-in reverb down, but I think that the
mastering tools are useful.

Oh, it runs from battery, and I think the built in mic is useless.

Alistair
