I'm just beginning the process of researching getting an

The actual purchase is a way off.

I've been looking (online) at the Godin's which are quite pricey and
opinions on them seem mixed. Style-wise I like the look and design of
them

though...

Hi Brian,

I went through a similar process a while back and offer the following
thoughts. If you want the feel of a classical guitar, then make sure you
buy one with a traditional classical nut width (2 inches?). I made the
mistake of buying one of the modern interpretations (like the Godin),
thinking it would be easier to swap between guitars if I bought more of a
standard acoustic guitar neck width. I fairly soon sold it as it just
didn't work for me. You need to be sure what your looking for.

If you decide you want a clasical neck then I'd recommend a trip to the
Classical Guitar Centre in Birmingham. It is well worth the trip - they
have loads of stock and treat you very well. I found it very frustrating
trying to find the guitar I wanted in the usual places as they often only
had one or two examples. I went to the Classical Guitar Centre and came
away very happy with this in the boot...

Check out their website - they have a lot of stock across a very large
price range.

I guess all of those fall into the "modern" neck category
