Exactly - that's what's so cool about the whole Guitar Idol thing.
Whether you've been playing for 20 years or 20 days, you can push
yourself musically, safe in the knowledge that everyone in the audience
is egging you on to do well. If you screw up, you just have another go
and laugh about it in the bar afterwards.

Probably less than you'd think, Chris... we're all our own worst
critics. I was really touched by the nice things people said about my
playing on Saturday, because I was notching up a huge mental list of
mistakes. I bet everyone was; it spurs us on to do better next time.
Gah... except "next time" is at least six months away :(
