Lovely web site. It seems they would actually want to separate Scotland as a separate island in the archipelago. It will need a lot of digging!
There's a song about it
We'll dig a trench along the border X 2
We'll dig a channel from the Solway to the Tweed
An' sail awa' frae England wi' the SNP
We'll maroon the tartan Tories on an island in the mist
Wi' copies o' Sir Water Scott an' then if they insist
We'll gi' 'em Andy Stewart for their Desert Island Discs
When Scotland sails away
<all together now>
We'll dig a trench etc
JF
Please note, it's not a sentiment to which I would subscribe. I've seen all round the world what the people of the Union have done working together, roads, railways, workshops, sewers and civil servants. I have been to Flodden and seen what they can do apart: over five hundred years ago that battle created a killing field which, on a small scale, equalled the Somme for its ferocity and its pity. The Flowers of the Forest fell for nothing and common humanity was diminished by the slaughter. Better to swallow the bile on both sides the Tweed and get on with life.
<walks off singing> Huroo, huroo, we're Orange an' we're Green
Huroo, huroo, we toast the Pope and Queen
We argue aboot fitba', we're livin' in a dream....
