John, you are correct, especially as each new user is a new stream of bandwidth getting chewed. YouTube is burning money at the moment supporting its streaming video. The idea that just anyone can do the same is not supported by the facts. I read an article recently about YouTube and how much its costing them. Can't remember where, but it is not cheap. Use Google you should be able to find it.

You can't do YouTube unless you are someone like Google with very deep pockets. Don't forget that MySpace, YouTube et al all ran at a loss until they were acquired and they still run at a loss now, albeit the new owners can afford that loss for what they consider to be "the duration". Strange business model, run at an astonishing loss until you finally get bought, making you all millionaires in the process.

Jacey, if you are looking for a host, I'm using memset for one particular operation. They've been quite good and flexible w.r.t bandwidth. I can't claim they are the best, as "best" is subjective depending upon what you are trying to do.

Offtopic: Anyone notice Julian's email get read out on the Today Programme at about 8.50 am this morning?
