Yes! I remember those from when I was very young. My mum got me one, cos
we (well, I at least) assumed this tape'd contain the actual songs.
The "imitations" (not cover versions really, *imitations*) were *dire*!
Some more so than others, but all at least *dire*.
ISTR I wanted the tape for an Adam and the Ants track (forget which),
and the appalling rendition I heard horrified me!
They were so "of their time"; you wouldn't get that crap these days!
These days, the original music itself is crap, instead - cut out the
middle man!
