Yup, it was 6 years ago though and I just wanted a working dish

SKY Enginneers seem to do what they feel like.

1) You may get one who will change the LNB and add the second feed
without comment, or
2) You may get one who goes on about this being a non standard
installation which he's happy to do if you pay extra, or
3) You get one who says it requires the non standard team to fit as they
will come equipped with boards to lay on the flat roof etc.


I can imagine it being a long wait to get the 'non standard gang' out?
...and they will charge extra. That's why they always go on about
"standard installation" is free on many offers.

A lot of it is due to insurance. If they stand on your flat roof and
damage it either you or your house insurer will be wanting recompense from
SKY. SKY have probably got a good deal for insurance cover for a standard
installation, and must pay more for cover for a non standard installation,
which they pass on to those customers requiring a non standard
installation.


Assuming the fitter refuses to do the job, will he leave the box behind and
I can then fit it myself (how difficult is it?)
