That's right, Ireland is the 2nd largest island of the archipelago.

Ireland is part of the British Isles, but not part of Great Britain nor part of United Kingdom. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom but not part of Great Britain. This is purely geographical because there will doubtless be Northern Irish sportspeople competing for TeamGB in the Olympics.

Canadians are North Americans but not part of the United States.
