The first one is especially nice. The first computer I ever did any
real programming on was a DEC PDP-8 embedded into a 3M Computer Output
Microfilm system. Happy days. We didn't have the luxury of a CRT
screen though, it was all done with a DECWriter and reams and reams of
printout paper. Debugging was such fun using paper red biro.
Yes, I liked that, too. I didn't recognize the DEC machine - I cut my
teeth on a DG Nova, probably very similar. Paper tape, rolls of
printout, and disk drives as big as a washing machine.
LOL, Yeah, we had Winchester drives, the drive platters were removable
in huge plastic housings the size of dustbin lids.
And you try and tell that to the young folk today.....
