Not quite the same as the song about 'Bass', but anyway, I had a weird
situation this morning when I felt faint while having some breakfast
about 8.30 and also with a bit of a swelling feeling at the back of
the throat, and felt rather bleah.

I tried taking my own BP with one of those ?10 machines you can get
from Lloyds Pharmacy which are really got, and first got 108/55
(oops!), and then 96/45 (double oops!), so I called the doctor and got
an appt. There, he took it again and got 126/60 ?

Try 80/50 on a doctor's machine. *That's* scary. This was immediately after
I came off my bike and when I was in shock ("no, it wasn't *a* shock, it was
*clinical* shock which can be fatal"). Sometimes you just know falling
asleep isn't wise regardless of how drowsy you might feel. Quite by chance I
was only about 2 minutes walk from my doctor's surgery so I got taken there,
given a quick check over and then waited in reception while the ambulance
got stuck in traffic on the way.

That is scary. BTW, it reminds me while I was driving on the motorway
on Saturday afternoon that I felt tired anyway and that to close my
eyes for a split second felt good... even though I then realised it
wasn't a good idea :)

Haven't checked my BP today but I'll try it again tomorrow morning. As
for the blood results from yesterday, they said the serum lipids were
borderline (not sure what that means exactly but I don't have to worry
about it and will just discuss at whenever my next GP appt is), while
every other part of the blood test was normal. Cholesterol still a bit
high at 5.2.
