- your not a certain age
- you dont have kids

Clearly people who dont fall into one of the above catagorys dont feel
the cold or need to heat a house .
I've got 2 kids. What do I get from this that you don't? Come on, I'd love to
know. Can't find anything in the governemnt announcement here:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/DG_171722

"Freeze on this year's bills for half a million poor consumers"

WTF does that mean ...presumably you already have to be receiving
certain Benefits to get this .!!!

How exactly will that work anyway? If your level of income is below a
certain amount, will the energy companies only charge you Gordon's
"special rate", or will you be charged as normal but Gordon will bung
you a few quid back in your benefits to make up for it?

It's not a very even-handed approach, is it? It's as if Gordon's
saying that it's OK for the energy cartels to arse *** you if he
thinks you can afford it. He must only be interested in buying the
votes of the the benefits mob. Perhaps he realises that he's
absolutely no fucking chance of getting the rest of us to vote for
him.

In real life, poor people are the ones who pay a 'special rate' - energy through a prepayment meter costs quite a bit more than a credit meter with a direct debit...
I can understand companies charging higher interest for higher risk customers, but I cannot understand why they charge them more for energy through a prepayment meter. I suppose it's something to do with the customer being over a barrel.
