Without going into a lot of details there's a woman I used to work
with until not long ago who, over the course of the past year turned
out to be a very good friend (no, not in that way, just platonic) and
you know when you know someone you can actually chat to about this and
that - which you couldn't to a lot of people, well, they were like
that.

Anyway, then they got a job somewhere else and, okay, you don't get to
chat as often as you did before and it's all by email now, but then
after a couple of months they suddenly turn round and say that they
won't be emailing again because they reckon it'll upset their
husband.

She's moved on, you haven't.

Life's like that.

I'd have understood if she'd hinted at that before - whether during the period
of work, or after.

But you clearly wanted more out of the relationship didn't you?

She's married, realised you fancied her and thinks it's better to go
your separate ways before her husband gets the wrong idea.

I was cool to remain friends and I don't go butting in where I don't think
I'll get any business, IYSWIM.
