I have regular sessions as part of my diabetes treatment. It has definitely improved my long-vision - I don't need my driving glasses any more. But it's not a pleasant experience having someone deliberately strobing a very bright light into your eye. I liken it to going to the dentist for a scrape and clean - it doesn't hurt exactly but you'd really rather be doing something else.

FWIW, as someone who is comfortable with wearing glasses, I wouldn't bother if it was just for cosmetic reasons.

One piece of advice: if you do go ahead with it, don't forget to take your sunglasses with you. You're gonna need them.
