Well worth a repeat viewing this one, if only for the look in the

$40,000 (or more, he cant bring himself to say) in the hole in a
couple of hours.

Haven't seen this one, must tune in. Thanks for the tip. I recently
bought the Louis Theroux - The Collection DVD boxset and it's well worth
the cash, his shows are among consistently amusing and interesting on
the box.

-Did you catch it then? I thought it was wonderful. It was interesting
-how blatant most of the casino guys were about the fact that they want

It's very hard to have a "little tickle" in somewhere like Vegas where
you can be booked into a hotel for a week. And maybe at concessionary rates.
It would be interesting to know the numbers of punters who having hit a winning
streak or a jackpot early on - or at any time really - decide to cash in their
chips and take the first plane out. Rather than stay just to catch one more
of the shows or enjoy the free drinks and hospitality. So they think.

I'd imagine the percentage hovers between 0 and 1%

What places like Vegas love is well heeled mugs coming back year after
year and losing maybe 10% of the income they've earned in the previous
year in order to "unwind".

Louis Theroux -   "gambling really makes sense when you're winning" or something
similar. Except of course it doesn't last, the percentages take care of that.

I went to Vegas once on a business trip and managed to only lose about
$100. But some of the sums peple were losing were scary. And with the
millions of people that go through those casino doors every year the
profits must be immense.

What I found hardest was to see the people that really were losing
their lives in there, cashing in their mortgages to gamble with.
