There's a risk in only listening to your favourite flavour of science.

AIM aren't scientists. I listen to all sorts of flavours of science.

So how do you feel about the imminent ice age?

In the 1970s, that's what we were going to get, the earth scientists told
us. It was all over the place, back then. Follow the money.
The fashion?

I mean, it's all gone up itself. These days, the grant-awarding bodies
will only give grants to climate-change research. The relevant
researchers know that their future meals and roofs over their head are
vested in supporting anthropogenic climate change.

You know climate changes don't happen overnight. The forecast was in the
nineteen sixties.

Hmm? Who was that, then? The next ice age was definitely being
forecast in the mid-1970s.

It seems reasonable to wait at least 100 years to see if he
was right.

It certainly seems reasonable not to beggar the entire world by jumping
to conclusions.
