The Daily Mail is often criticised in here, and rightly so in most
cases.

It is criticised a lot but so many people read it,everywhere you go,the
tube, train or bus there are lots reading it.Not as good as some papers but
better than the red tops!

I'm not convinced.  I typically read `someone else's paper' each Saturday
morning in some supermarket cafe or other, and I reckon the Daily Record,
while still fairly trashy, is substantially superior to the Daily Mail in
almost every respect.  There's barely an item you can read in the DM that
isn't twisted into `Gordon Brown punched my kitten' or `the EU murdered
my gran' or `early-released ethnic-minority murderer trod on my flower
bed' terms.

My father buys the DM every day which meant that when he came to visit
me over here a few weeks ago
he had to go down to the local train station every day for his copy as
that was the closest place that
sold it. When he finished with it (he can seemingly spend the whole
bloody day reading it some how) I
used to flick through it but it really is extremely difficult to
enjoy. Even the "fun" pages are boring.
Cheers
