Can someone do me a simple diagram showing how all these step-people,
uncles, dads, peoples' sisters, etc, are actually related to the kid? Is
the entire estate related to each other?
The sad thing is that the reality in this country is now even beginning to
make the contents of 'Viz' appear to be normality.. little wonder that circa
800 people (we can probably ill afford to lose) are abandoning this country
every single day.
The lower orders have always been with us. They were always the main audience
for things like public executions and bear baiting and were the ones
throwing cabbages at people in the stocks.
A whole family living in one room with no sanitation - just a pipe and bog
out the back - was commonplace among the poor in most towns up till 1920.
Hence the fuss about no homes fit for heroes.
Anyone who thinks otherwise - that it was "Archers" all the way before
say 1960 is living in cloud cukoo land.
As to the people leaving many of these are wrinklies who's economic
life is over. Very few bother to learn the language and so are
at a big disadvantage. Which is why many come back tiring of
permanent sunshine or arguing with loacals about things like water
rights.
