Odd that you say that. I stopped thinking that after the first
episode of Frost. Others have commented on what a good actor he is
because most don't see him as Del Boy .

Couldn't agree more also when watching Del Boy you never found
yourself thinking Granville.
In my book, it's the mark of great acting that essentially the same
voice and face can be used to project completely different characters
without any confusion.
Learnt a lot of his craft from Ronnie Barker I believe. You definitely
wouldn't say Fletcher and Arkwright were the same characters. He played
Churchill's manservant once later in life, a positively foul-mouthed
character he was!
I often find comedic actors make very good straight actors as well
.
