Probably easier if you say what the software is and what the keygen
was and/or where you got it.

I won't on this occasion because a google also told that other people have had
the same problem following completely unrelated matters, so it's not so
relevant as the end result is that *something's happened* and there's a way to
fix it but I don't know what that is.

FWIW, I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 1

SP _one_? Are you insane?

Sometimes, but not as a result of my Windows activities.

You do realise Microsoft has not supported that since 2006 and you can
upgrade, for free, to Service Pack 2? (One of, I think, only 3 OS
supported by Microsoft - Vista and Win2k being the other two).

Try updating right now.

I'm very much a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" person, and as I type I've
just installed Fileant (http://fileant.com) and that's okay as a replacement
but still not perfect as it's brought up two panes on the right-hand side of
the screen instead of one, the panes can't be made bigger or smaller (one of
the FAQs said that he's working on this but as yet it's not there and when he
tried it, it was causing problems), and I tried moving a file into another
folder and then 'undo' but there's no undo function, so when you have one of
those moments where you've accidentally moved something into the wrong folder,
you're fucked.

I also heard, about SP2, that that was causing problems with some programs, so
for as long as it's not doing that on here then I won't be updating it any
time soon.
