Just how are people supposed to get their shopping home ? .
In a rain soaked country like the uk recycled paper bags are out of the
question unless a new type of greaseproof paper bag is invented .
And even then - the weight of the actual shopping and the sharp corners
on some products would mean the slightest bit of water soaking though
would mean the paper bag would rip and spill your shopping all over the
pavement .
I very rarely use plastic carrier bags, I use a sports bag/holdal type
thing. Have done for years.
Far more convenient/comfortable to sling that over your back than
to walk with both hands full of carrier bags.
Same when I go non-food shopping.
Other people may be content to walk round town with both
hands full of bulging bags but not me!
and the sudden increase in police activity around you is of course completely
unrelated :)
