Don't know if this is a really stupid question, but do the X Factor
judges really sit through *all* the auditions? Or is there some kind
of filtering out audition first and they just show up for filming the
most interesting ones - good and bad?
There are application forms than at least two rounds of auditions with
the producers before anyone goes in front of the judges.
You don't really need to read Ben Elton's "Chart Throb" to do the
maths and work out it would be completely impossible for everyone to
be seen.
As a public service announcement, I would like to point out that none of
Ben Elton's books need to be read for any reason whatsoever.
