I agree with most of this. People need to move on with their lives. I
have made my feelings about John Pelan and Ramsey Campbell plain on my
website, and I am quite prepared to ignore them, but alas they keep
chasing after me. RC keeps referencing me in his message board, Pelan
stalks me into UMTM.

As for Alan Hope, he has never tired of saying that he will keep
pestering me just to "remind" everybody else what a throughly ghastly
person I am etc etc.

If people are not prepared to drop a grudge in an unmoderated
discussion group then things will just go on forever, slowly consuming
and destroying those caught up in it, and possibly the group itself.

Usenet will eat itself.

I've lost count of how many times you've dragged Ramsey Campbell into
your tiresome rants over the last couple of months in this group and
in abgf. Now you're saying you do it because he keeps referencing you
on his message board, but this is an outright lie (a "deeply
unpleasant, malicious lie" as you would probably put it in your
typically tedious, verbose way).

Show me one - just ONE - instance in which he has started a thread
about you or mentioned you in a malicious way in any existing recent
thread. No beating around the bush, no shifting the goalposts - just
provide a link to any thread in which he has been attacking you over
the last few months the way you've been attacking him. Since you're so
confident that this is what's happening, it shouldn't be too
difficult, should it? And don't give me your usual "you find it, I'm
not going to do your homework for you" remark - you made the
accusation, so clearly the onus is on you to provide proof. You can't,
of course, because he hasn't. He isn't "chasing" you at all. On the
other hand, you keep referencing RC here and then try to make out that

aspiring writers / reviewers who has tried to make a name for himself
by picking up the shield to try and defend those who can further your
career. I've seen at least a dozen of you off.

I can't be bothered citing the threads, and besides, you can't link to
a specific thread on the RC message board from here. I suggest you go
ask Gary Fry or Ramsey Campbell as they both know that he did. Or why
not just start a thread asking the others to tell you where he has
done it. Several people on that board asked RC to stop baiting me. I
saw those posts, many other people saw those posts. For all I know
they've been removed, but I doubt very much that RC regulars would
have forgotten about them.

Go and start a new thread now asking about this issue. They may be
reluctant to confirm what I've said for fear of upsetting their dying
pontiff, but I very much doubt they would lie outright about the
matter.

Oh, and here are a couple of other titbits for you. RC allowed himself
to be quoted on the Ansible website attacking me - another example of
RC's waspish intolerance of his critics. And should you ever manage to
get hold of copies of David Sutton's late 60s/ early 70s fanzine
'Shadow' you will discover that RC was a very prolific, aggressive and
deeply paranoid letter writer, possessed of a very bloated self-ego.

(This is where you clap your hands over your ears, scream more abuse,
and refuse to even look at the evidence.)

Of course, this is just the kind of evasive reply I'd expected. You
lie, I take you to task for it asking for evidence, and then you do
your best to squirm out of it with a lot of half-assed, unrelated

No, it isn't a lie, Lines, it is an _allegation_. You are quite
welcome to borrow my OED if you wish. A lie has to have been proven
beyond all reasonable doubt. An allegation is simply an _assertion_
that has been made _without proof_.

You can verify the truth of my allegation very easily for yourself -
but only if you wanted to. You could trawl through the RC message
board for example, or you could ask RC himself, or you could ask other
people in the RC message board. You could ask them if they recall the
threads which started with RC referencing me and inviting others to
attack me. It would take you about one minute, possibly less. Yes, you
could get your answer very swiftly indeed - if you really wanted it,
of course.

However, we both know that you won't, because we both know my
allegation will be proved true, and you will end up with egg all over
your face. At least now you can strut around pretending that you
defeated me by calling my bluff; I'm quite sure that the Rodens or
Campbell will scratch your ear and toss you a chocolate treat in
gratitude.
