for his work reporting from the Gaza Strip.
Funny how the BBC and other media outlets have really got behind one
of their own - regular mentions on the news , and on the BBC website.
Don't remember this for any of the other people kidnapped in the
Middle East - oh but they weren't journalists so obviously aren't so
important.
What a fucking brainless comment. Does the name John McCarthy mean
anything to you? Jackie Mann? Terry Waite? Terry Anderson? Michel
Seurat? David Jacobsen? Brian Keenan? Dozens of people held hostage
over the years, and you never heard of any of them? Well whose fault
is that?
You missed the point as usual Alan , did other hostages have a day
counter on the website? Did other journalists question what he was
doing there? like they did with more recent hostages?
No they didn't - did you put any of the Iraq hostages on your blog? no
you didn't .
Their anger is the fact that they try to put such a positive light on
the Islamic world , on terrorism , on the fact that the Palestinian
state has descended to anarchy and on how evil the west and Israel is
then the ungrateful buggers kidnap the BBC representative in the
area. All that was missing was the ""but he's on your side" posters.
It might be that journalists figure large among the names of hostages
in these places because they stay behind when all you factory-owning
types hike up your skirts and run the *** away.
Factory owning types?? Do people who own factories in Birmingham UK
feature highly in the West Bank? Did they before the intifada and then
they left? I hadn't realised I had a Gaza strip factory site. What a
stupid thing to write
It shows your blinkered mindset - you are a journalist - you can't
Still, that's no excuse for your pig-ignorance.
help it. The same type that go on about the West Bank , forgetting
there is an East Bank and it's in Jordan and Jordan threw the
Palestinians out because they were destabilising the country , and
they were nice Arabs too . Blinkered , self important , misguided ,
foolish - that sums it up.
If you were to look at the reports form Johnson - thats the ones that
never made it to the headlines , you'd see the bloke was wasting his
time. When was it ever in the headlines ? "" shooting in Gaza!"" Yawn
same *** different decade, he probably filed reports every day ---- I
remember actually early one Sat morning there_ was_ a report from Gaza
of a 6 hour gunbattle between opposing sides in the power struggle ,
several were killed . 6 Hour gunbattle - how big must that have
been ?? By 9;30 in the morning the story was dropped from the reports
for more mundane stuff like Cameron making a speech about hoodies or
Cherie Blair wearing the wrong lipstick . Thatys how much the BBC
valued Johnson - his work there was pointless in a world that frankly
is no longer suprised by Palestinians fighting , and now the bloke is
probably dead for nothing - absoloutely nothing.
