we did realise he was saying Ricky was lying about his show being
sold out, or he wouldn't need to advertise so hard. But why make a
"friend" so uncomfortable about it by going on, and on, and on about
it ?

Gervaise was on Richard & Judy that very afternoon plugging the new Extras
DVD. Perhaps JW was mad about that because it would be shown before his own
show?
Gervais wasn't plugging any other show from what I remember, though his
children's book won on the Galaxy awards. That wasn't mentioned either.
