I've always been interested in East Anglia, whether it be the geology,
culture, folklore or climate. It takes time to assure them you're
genuine but even the hardest nuts can crack eventually. Having said
that, I know people who have moved here from London to profit from
their house values, plus there is an unpopular trend with rich city
types buying up all the cottages in pretty coastal villages (Burnham
Market is now known as Chelsea-on-sea), so I can quite understand why
locals are suspicious. They're having their culture slowly eroded

Having webbed feet and pointing at aeroplanes does not constitute a
culture.

Very funny, very funny. Perhaps you should write it down and send it
off to my fellow East Anglian Stephen Fry? No doubt he too would hoot
with laughter and use it in his next routine.

I think he might. Just to be clear, I live not a million miles from the
Market Place in Norwich (having moved here from up North to get away
from the thieving Scousers nearly ten years ago). I love the people
here dearly, but when Mr Fry (born in Buckinghamshire though raised in
Naaarfuk) did a reading from his autobiography in the city he did take
time to point out that the county is not the centre of the universe as
some would like to believe, but at least we are all too busy shagging
our sisters to have much time to spare for the sheep.

Posted twice by mistake, having hit "send" just as I realised I'd
spelled "constitute" wrong - which doesn't look good when you're
slagging off yokels. ;o)
