Then after trying to sort it out further the device is "code 10" and
won't start.


I've got a persistent code 10 on a Netgear WG511 PCMCIA card on my laptop.
Haven't been able to get to the bottom of it. Even reinstalled XP from the
restore disks. No joy. Suspect the card may have blown up (although the
lights on it still work).
