They're going to be told, wait for it, that they're in `near space' and
too close to the earth[0] to be weightless. Apparently.

Hence the notion that the joke's on the viewers---assuming there are
any. But they did, apparently, filter out anyone that had any clue
about anything worthwhile in the early stages of selection.
