currently I'm in the 16-24 demo (25 in April)
I love how programmes enjoyed by 16 year olds is also what I would be
watching.

well thats kind of true, I would read the sun over anything else but thats
coz thats usually whats lying in work - and it's a girl that buys it. i
rarely read news thats not celebrity or entertainment related

I've never done any drugs and unfortunatly not had more than 10 partners

I do but few of my friends have anything beyond a mobile and maybe a dvd
player

we do?? I'm a big fan of food but I have no fashion sense, hate travelling
and have no desire to anywhere beyond The pyramids in Egypt and travel
America....the rest of the world I can pass on.

> The Young are defined by the brands they consume whether it's media or
> clothing

i never buy brands

> Some of the defining experiences of the Young have been:
> Diana's death

this didn't effect me at all...i really didn't see what the fuss was
about...another dead celebrity. I'd put 9-11 in there before I'd mention
diana's death

> Blair's Britain

meh...

> The growth of the internet and the 24-hour access to chat, music and
> virtual life

I'd agree with this...pretty much spend most of my non-working time online
in some capacity although I dont have this big network of online friends
like some seem to

> Girl Power

I'd define this as more of the Lad-ette culture than girl power and consider
it a much more negative thing than what the Spice Girls were crowing on
about...

> Friends
I've just finished watching season 4 to 10 back to back and was laughing
constantly....

> Playstation and Nintendo

you know I never had a nintendo, had a playstation but I can barely remember
it....think I sold it on ebay for about £30 a couiple of years ago

> They aren't old enough to remember:

> A world without computers

i remember a world without HOME computers....i remember getting my first
home PC, was a packard bell 512khz processor

> Music not on CDs

I remember buying my first ever single with my own money and it was on
vynal. it was the One and Only by Chesney Hawks and it was great. i also
remember the great war between Oasis and Blur (which Blur won) I bought
Blur's country house on tape. I had loads of single tapes....couldn't tell
you the first CD single i bought....although the first album i owned was
probably a now album I got as a present or something

> Live Aid

i probably dont remember it from watching it but I've always known what it
was...i probably remember Band Aid 2 nmore than the first one and probably
seen lots of stuff about live aid around that time....but I know everything
their is to know about it now...got the dvd and I think I'm one of the few
people who actually like the song.

> Life without Channel 4
i think it started right before i was born...or pretty soon after I was born

> High inflation and mass unemployment

dont we have high inflation and mass unemployment right now? If not why the
hell are my taxes so high?

> Computers without a mouse
I had a 128k plus3 ZX Spectum and a BBC Micro both of which had no mouse and
my friend used to have an Acorn computer which had a trackball

> The Young do not watch a great deal of TV. On average, they watch 19 hours
> per week - that's > 7 hours less than average

I watch about 35 hours a week I'd say

> They love big dramas, American comedies and films and are more likely
> than average to watch
> music, animation and reality TV

i wouldnever watch music TV but a big portion of my TV watching is reality
TV and the only animation I watch is Family guy and South Park

> The single most important music genre currently is Urban (eg, a genre
> that is played on BBC's
> 1Xtra) - it's now bigger than Dance or Indie.

I would shoot myself before listening to it....fucking awful. i like Talk
Radio, I used to listen to Tommy Boyd or James Whale on TalkSport. I now
listen to a couple of american shows i get off the internet. If I wanted
music i have an mp3 player which covers everything I'd want to hear (most of
which would never be played on the radio)

So in short some of this is correct but a lot is wrong. i think I'd fit in
with the over 25 catagories better but then their age ranges are very wide.
the Dont Remember A World Withouts and The Influences for the 25 year olds
are much more accurate for me...although my TV watching is still closer to
the 55 year olds...
