Well, when I go out with my mates from work and we have too much drink
we tend to either fall asleep, talk sh*t or go home. I can't ever
recal any one of us resorting to fisty cuffs.

For those who would tend to be violent, drink is unquestionably a
catalyst. However, their regard of the law is questionable anyway so
banning alcohol wouldn't really affect them, they would still drink on
public transport. The only people who will suffer are those people who
legitimately enjoy a drink on a long journey while unwinding/picking
their nose/doing the crossword or whatever.

Having said that, anyone who drinks on a public bus (long distance
coaches excluded) must be a bit sad or have a problem.

Once again we have a symptomatic treatment to a problem, instead of
treating the root cause......

......not that I have the slightest idea what the root cause of someone
drinking Special Brew and getting a bit leery on the late night number
39 bus.
