If you can, why not download programmes you do want to listen again to
onto a USB stick and play that in the car, just for those awful CAS
strong moments (which in fact last much longer than half an hour in
real time ;-) )?

Apart from the fact that it won't resume play where you left off,
returning to the start of the track it was playing, it's hard to fault
the machine I bought a few weeks ago for TA catchup, etc.

I find it incomprehensible how something like this can be made for this
prince.

Ooh, I like the look of this! Am I right in thinking it works off the lighter system? So it could be used in an older car, not just those set up for connecting ordinary mp3 players?

Take a look at some of the comments though.

I tried one of these and like one of the reviewers found it very difficult to find a free part of the radio spectrum and one that stayed free while you were driving.

Mighty dangerous trying to retune (both radio and this device) while driving !

And my little gizmo also never gave good quality unless you were parked with the engine off in a radio deadspot !

We had something similar using the cassette player and the lighter and had
very similar problems, so in the end, we gave up using it. It was v cheap, though!
I now use the USB stick direct having discovered that the player could only deal with .mp3 files and it is great and can even deal with the folder structures, but (as reported in umra before) can only play back tracks in the order they were written to the stick and also doesn't have resume like it does for CDs :(

Our new one, which husbad installed on Saturday and which I've not used
much yet, seems to have both track search and resume facility for the USB stick, AFAICT.
He got it on special offer from MediaMarkt (about 30 squid less than from here, inc P&P):

He had to go and get a different connector as the Volvo one didn't fit, but apart from that, no probs.
