My blind friend has mentioned (Christmas pressie discussions) a
"heated knife for cutting frozen food", or words to that effect. She
thought it was a Betterware product, but it doesn't seem to be, not
Kleeneezee.

1. Does anyone have any links?
2. Are they any use? I have a suspicion they may well not be.
I believe Moulinex do a "frozen food blade" for their electric
carving knife. Don't know if it's heated, though.

I have a frozen food knife. It's got more and different serrations
than your average serrated knife and it does work, but it's quite hard
going at times.

Thanks Jenny and Jane. Jane, is that just a hand knife (I presume not
heated)?

Yes, just a hand knife. Serrated knives tend to make more crumbs, IME,
and the frozen food knife creates what I would almost call dust, so
there is some wastage. I don't often use it, but it's worth having it
for an emergency.

So it's basically a saw, by the sound of it. Interesting; can you
remember where you got it?

Sorry, no.

I tried Googling and found a couple on US sites, but nothing on UK sites
in the first couple of pages. There were plenty of frozen food blades for
electric carving knives, though. If you've got more time and patience you
might find the hand sort somewhere.

I'm sure if you hurry you could get one in Gray's of George Street, in
Edinburgh. Sadly, they're going to close in January, after a very long life
of providing the citizens of the Scottish capital with every sort of
houseware imaginable. A few tears will be shed ...

Possibly only a rumour but, I've heard that Robert Dyas are in financial problems.
