Isn't Norman P reputed to have recorded a death scene, in anticipation of his demise?For the cast's sake I hope they leave it a bit - a member of such long standing is going to be part of the family. From the audience point of view he is mainly important as a background character these
Well, yes, but he's such a central character in the family that it would be a bit artificial to keep him in the wings, supported by lines from Jill, like, "I'll just take a cup of tea in to Phil," or "Your father and I were just talking about..."
The SWs will know that we all know, and that we're just waiting for the big moment.
He's the last of the original scriptwriters: they have to do him justice. My vote is for Mary Cutler, Joanna Toye or Carole Solazzo. In that order.
And I wouldn't mind if they re-issued Reluctant Archer: I haven't read that.
