My father would be very cross with you for pointing it out: as a teacher
of German, he taught a rule "words ending in -ung are feminung". When
some girl pupil pointed out that the saying worked just as well with
"masculung", he wasn't pleased! (I'm sure he'd already realised that,
but once it had been said, others in the class would forget which was
the right one.)

Then there was the old lady who could always remember which tropic was which
because Cancer had an "n" in it.

I see what you mean!

I remember them as you get cancer in the chest, but corns on your feet. (OK, you probably can get foot cancer, but I didn't know that when someone suggested that way of remembering to me.)
