The answer has come back, brief and to the point: "File > Decode."

(Alt-F, D.)

And it really is that simple, I just tried it.
Thank you Jenny, I then see a box with the attachments in - but I still don't see what I do to save them where I can get at them or preferably, save them in a folder that I name and place where I want it! I tried following the "File . Decode" route, saw a box containing them but when I attempt to save them, I get error messages that loop - regards of what option I go for. The only way out was to control -alt-delete and close the Turnpike window. :-(

That's odd. Hitting File/decode gives me a box which actually only mentions the log txt file. You can choose where to save it as in any

Yes, it's a bit disconcerting that all it offers is indeed the DecodeLog.txt decode file. But as Kate says, it is like any other save dialog box - including the "make new directory" button (in Windows '9x it looks like a folder with a little star behind it, just to the right of the "up one level" button with a hooked arrow on it; I can't remember what the buttons look like under XP, and I don't know for Vista); for seventysomething attachments, I'd certainly make a new folder ...

'save' dialogue box, can't you? I saved it onto the desktop to see what would happens, and lo and behold, there was the txt file and also

... I definitely wouldn't do it to the desktop, as you'd fill your desktop!

When you say you get error messages that loop, they aren't error messages that say something like "Unnamedattachment", are they? TP asks this if the attachment hasn't got a name. Unfortunately, it asks this for every unnamed attachment, and after you say "yes" (if you do) to the first one, it then says something like "file exists - do you want to overwrite it" if you say Yes again, and if you say no at that point it returns you to the previous window, where you must enter a new name (in your case I'd use 01, 02, 03, etc. - unfortunately, you'll have to do this for all of them). I'd then use IrfanView to look at them (drag or Open With), which will figure out what sort of image (.jpg, .gif, etc.) they are, and offer to add the appropriate extension.

Just a thought: File | Decode is applied to the _email_ that contains them, not the individual images.

Finally, if you find that there are seventy-something images none of which are named, it might be worth asking the sender to resend them, ideally zipped into a zip if they're unable to send named attachments.

If all else fails, forward me the email and I'll decode it, and send a zip file back.
Thank you Jpeg and everyone else, this seems to confirm to me that my choice of mandraulically saving each file to another folder in the first place was just as quick after all! There is a limit to the number of times I wish to read the message, respond with a new file name, click here, click there, read the next message ... (I might add that if I send someone else multiple files, I zip them up first!)

Mike
