Nor in mine. I right-clicked on things along the top and got an option to download this video to realplayer. I selected this. It said it had downloaded, but the realplayer program just kept freezing up and not responding :(

I've just been on the phone to Anne to investigate. She's found the
RealPlayer icon now. :-) But I assume that we see different versions of
those pages than you do over in the UK.

Does this mean that when I sign on in France I will get the version with the RealPlayer icon?

Fair enough, I can listen on iPlayer at the moment. But does this mean that eurorats, such as you, Gumrat, are unable to listen because iPlayer blocks non-UK servers?

Not completely but on a per-programme basis. Most or all TV and some
radio programmes are off limits, as it were. The radio programmes are
served to us with a RealPlayer interface, divided into two sections - a
Flash-based image and a set of RealPlayer controls underneath. I think
in the UK you get just a Flash application that has the play controls
integrated, and that would feature the MP3 streams that they wrote in
the blogs.

And, sorry for being so very, very dim and not paying attention before, but what are the implications for internet radios? Having just received my refund for the Pinnacle, I was about to think of buying one which would play BBC radio, but am now totally, totally confused!!!

Everything works as before, only there have been teething problems as
the BBC have changed their stream addresses (see other post for the new
format) and have made all kinds of internal changes as well while they
were working on the iPlayer. But you can still use the RealPlayer streams
in the UK as well as outside. It's just that when you're in the UK,
the iPlayer web interface uses the new "improved" MP3 streams instead,
so you're not as much aware as we are over here that the RealPlayer
streams live on. Reciva et al will be aware though, and will have
updated their LA links to the new address scheme quite some time ago.

Thank you. I'm sure I will understand things a lot clearer once I have actually seen an internet radio play something from the BBC. At the moment it's all just theory.
