view -> Toolbars -> Address Bar
(it might have been moved off screen though)

Thank you, Paul. The Address Bar is ticked, but it is still not
visible, even if I re-size the window. How do I get it back on
screen? (How did I manage to 'lose' it in the first place?).

Try right clicking up there and untick "Lock the toolbars"
then unclick all the toolbars and add them back one by one, starting
with the address bar.
